Universe Print Queue Widget for Bravo Dashboard

This widget will allow Universe users to view a list of the print jobs in the queue, preview the first several lines of the print entry, and download the print job as a text file.

This Widget required Bravo Dashboard to function. Bravo Dashboard is a free download.

Installation Instructions

Step-by-step Instructions to Install the Universe Widget Programs

  1. Open the SBBP-UV-INSTALL.TXT file in Notepad or Wordpad
  2. Type CTRL-A to copy the entire file to your clipboard
  3. Log into the SBDB account on your UV system and get to TCL
  4. Use the clipboard PASTE feature to paste the data into the TCL prompt using your emulator

This will complete the installation of the widget and you will find a new widget called “LISTPEQS” in your widget library.

The widget will work now, but you must add the new images to your sbdb/docs/images directory in the Windows or Unix file system.

Windows Users

Unzip the sbdb-images.zip file into the C:\bdboard\sbdb\docs\images folder.

Unix Users

Extract the sbdb-images.tar file into the /vweb/sbdb/docs/images directory.

  1. Copy the tar file to the server via FTP, SAMBA, wget, etc. Be sure to use BINARY mode if you perform an FTP transfer.
  2. Change to the /vweb/sbdb/docs/images directory
  3. Extract the tar file using “tar -xvf sbdb-images.tar .”

Updated installation file fixes a problem with the markup in the print queue widget. This problem inhibits any widgets from appearing on the dashboard below the print queue widget. Only the …INSTALL.TXT file has changed. The image files do not need to be updated.

Initial Release Caveats

Deleting print queues is not supported in this version. The service does not have permission to delete the queues that belong to other users. If anyone has a way to resolve this, please share it by posting a comment below and I’ll put it into the download.
