dm.account

Definition/General, Releases: AP

The 'data manager' account.

Description

Data Manager account for the Pick System containing files necessary for basic system operation.

The Pick System makes extensive use of its own data management capabilities to manage system-related data in the 'dm' account. The 'dm' account supersedes the 'SYSPROG' account found in 'classic' Pick (R83 versions).

Running the macro, 'r83.setup' from the 'dm' account makes the SYSPROG account and the whole system R83-compatible.

There are three files on the dm account which are used by the system and the users. These files are 'tcl-stack', 'users', and 'pibs' and should be 't-dump'ed prior to performing an operating system upgrade. After a full restore, these files should be 't-load'ed.
