dummy.save

Definition/TCL, Releases: AP and R83

Validates integrity of save media.

Description

performes the 'save' command without actually writing to magnetic media.

By omitting the 't' option, nothing is written to a peripheral storage device.

This is one of the most useful mechanisms for determining if gfe's or other serious errors exist in the entire system, or in a particular account.

Example

:save (fd

This is the equivalent of a 'full' dummy save (like a
'file-save').

:save (fdi

This is the equivalent of an 'account-save' (dummy).
